Story Behind the Creation

During a forest walk, the designer was captivated by two natural phenomena: wind gusts dancing overhead and vines spiraling along tree trunks. She envisioned a work where “invisible air currents” and “tangible growth” could intertwine. By harnessing glass’s pliability, she melded these contrasts into one cohesive piece, bringing motion to stillness.

Craftsmanship

• Hot-pull technique: A basic vase is first blown, then glass rods are hot-pulled into uniform spirals;

• Spiral wrapping: While still malleable, artisans skillfully wind the spirals around the cooling vase to create rhythmic, three-dimensional textures;

• Annealing & polishing: Multiple annealing stages ensure stability, and meticulous polishing allows light to dance across the spiral surfaces.
